Summary:

Functional Skills Tutor required in Ascot with experience working with SEN students.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Functional Skills Tutor to join our team and make a meaningful impact on students’ lives. This role is ideal for someone who is dedicated to helping students with SEN develop their skills and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Functional Skills tuition to students with special educational needs
  • Follow the Bright Heart Approach, focusing on building trust, self-esteem, and academic progress
  • Prepare and deliver engaging and structured lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular feedback to parents and the school
  • Collaborate with education consultants and other tutors to ensure consistent support for students
  • Attend training sessions and ongoing professional development opportunities
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students
  • Communicate effectively with parents, students, and the school team

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • At least 12 months of relevant tutoring and/or teaching experience in the UK
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Strong subject knowledge in Functional Skills
  • University qualification or studying towards one and A-levels
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Current Enhanced DBS certificate (with a check of the children’s barred list)
  • 2 relevant professional references and a parent reference

Preferred

  • Experience with the Bright Heart Approach
  • Previous experience in SEN tuition/teaching
  • Passion for working with students with SEN
  • Flexibility to work in the Ascot area and accommodate various tutoring schedules
