Functional Skills Tutor needed in Ipswich with experience working with SEN students.

The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to support students in the Ipswich area. This role is ideal for someone passionate about working with students with SEN and committed to making a meaningful impact through personalized and effective teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Functional Skills tuition tailored to students with special educational needs
- Follow the Bright Heart Approach, focusing on building trust and self-belief before academic progress
- Attend an in-person onboarding meeting in London or Manchester
- Provide regular feedback and progress updates to the school and parents
- Collaborate with education consultants to ensure consistent and effective teaching methods
- Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment for students
- Stay up to date with current teaching practices and SEN support strategies
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- At least 12 months of relevant tutoring or teaching experience in the UK
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Strong subject knowledge in Functional Skills
- A current Enhanced DBS certificate (with a check of the children’s barred list)
- A university qualification or currently studying towards one and A-levels
- Passion for teaching and working with students with special educational needs
Preferred
- Experience working with students with SEN
- Familiarity with the Bright Heart Approach
- Experience with online and in-person tutoring
- Previous involvement in education consultancy or training
