The Opportunity:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will ensure students remain engaged and focused during lessons in the absence of their teacher. This role is essential to maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting the school’s commitment to high standards of behaviour and academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise classes in the absence of a teacher, ensuring students stay on task and follow set work
• Deliver learning where appropriate, maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement
• Support the school’s ethos by fostering positive relationships with students
• Manage short-term and long-term cover assignments as needed
• Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning
• Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour during supervision
• Maintain accurate records of all supervisory activities
• Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Proven experience in a supervisory or teaching role
• Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to maintain discipline
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to the school’s values and ethos
• Flexibility to work term time only and on a varied schedule

Preferred

• Experience in delivering lessons or supporting teaching
• Familiarity with the school’s curriculum and teaching methods
• Experience with behaviour management in a school setting
• Knowledge of emotional intelligence and student welfare
