The Opportunity:

As a PE Cover Supervisor, you will support the Physical Education department and wider school by delivering lessons, managing fixtures, and providing general cover. This role is essential in ensuring continuity of learning and student engagement during staff absences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality PE lessons in the absence of teaching staff
  • Support and manage extra-curricular sports fixtures and events
  • Provide general cover across the school where required
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students during lessons
  • Collaborate with departmental staff to maintain consistent teaching standards
  • Support the development of students through physical activity and sport
  • Maintain accurate records and communication with relevant staff
  • Promote a positive and motivating atmosphere for students and colleagues

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications in Physical Education or related field
  • Experience in teaching or delivering PE lessons
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage and lead groups of students effectively
  • Commitment to student well-being and safety

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting or within education
  • Knowledge of sports fixtures and event management
  • Experience with behaviour management and student engagement
  • Familiarity with assessment and curriculum planning in PE
  • Passion for promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles
