The Opportunity:
A Criminology Teacher is needed to deliver high-quality, engaging learning that inspires students to achieve their potential. You’ll create dynamic lessons, support student progress, and contribute to a curriculum that promotes critical thinking and future employability. This role is ideal for a passionate educator committed to outstanding teaching and pastoral support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging Criminology lessons that inspire and challenge students.
- Support student progress and achievement through effective teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the WJEC Level 3 Criminology qualification.
- Mark controlled assessments for Units 1 and 3 accurately and efficiently.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of a curriculum that promotes critical thinking and personal development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Provide strong pastoral support to students to help them succeed both academically and personally.
- Maintain accurate records and assessments in line with institutional and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree in Criminology or a related subject.
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- Level 2 English and Maths qualifications.
- Recent, specialist experience delivering WJEC Level 3 Criminology.
- Confidence in teaching all four Criminology units.
- Strong organisational and IT skills.
- Experience marking controlled assessments for Units 1 and 3.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Strong track record of student achievement and progression.
- Experience in pastoral support and student welfare.
- Knowledge of current issues in criminology and criminal justice.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary ranging from £29,374 to £44,218 per annum.
- 49 days holiday, inclusive of 8 bank holidays and 6 closure days.
