The Opportunity:
As a Curriculum Leader Business and Vocational, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the Business and Economics department. You will lead, inspire, and deliver high-quality teaching and learning, ensuring students achieve outstanding outcomes and are prepared for the next stage of their education and careers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum for Business and Vocational studies across Key Stages 4 and 5.
- Support and coordinate vocational provision across the school, working closely with senior colleagues and the Exams Office.
- Collaborate with the Curriculum Leader for Economics to ensure consistent and impactful teaching and learning.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement through the sharing of best practice and professional development.
- Monitor and assess student progress, using data to inform teaching and learning strategies.
- Lead and manage a dedicated team, providing guidance and support to ensure strong departmental outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of the school’s wider strategic vision and initiatives.
- Encourage student engagement and aspiration through innovative and creative teaching methods.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching Business and Vocational subjects at both KS4 and KS5.
- Strong leadership and management experience within a school or educational setting.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills with a commitment to high-quality teaching and learning.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the school and to contribute to departmental development.
- Experience in using assessment and feedback to drive student progress and achievement.
Preferred
- Experience in a senior leadership role within a school or college.
- Knowledge of vocational education and its role in student progression and employability.
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation in education.
- Experience of working in a Catholic school or with a strong values-based ethos.
