The Opportunity:

A Maths Teacher is needed to inspire and support students in achieving academic success at GCSE and A Level. This role offers the chance to shape curriculum development and make a meaningful impact in a therapeutic and SEN-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across KS3–KS5, adapted to meet the needs of students with SEN
  • Use adaptive teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs and track student progress effectively
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that promotes wellbeing and positive behaviour
  • Work closely with the SENCO, support staff, families, and external professionals to support student progress
  • Act as a Form Tutor, maintaining strong relationships with students and regular communication with parents/carers
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, safeguarding, health and safety, and classroom organisation
  • Contribute to enrichment activities, trips, and the wider life of the school

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and the right to work and teach in the UK
  • Experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level with a proven ability to raise student attainment
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs, including SEN
  • Effective behaviour management strategies and a commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
  • Organised, reflective, and committed to continuous professional development
  • Patient, resilient, and passionate about helping young people achieve their potential

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership within a school setting
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language or additional language support
  • Experience working in a therapeutic or SEN-focused environment
