The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Curriculum Leader Performing Arts to lead the development of Drama and Music across all key stages. This role offers the chance to shape a creative curriculum that supports student achievement and personal growth, while contributing to the strategic development of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the development of the Drama and Music curriculum across all key stages.
  • Support and mentor staff in the Performing Arts department to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with other curriculum leaders to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to student learning.
  • Promote and develop a vibrant extracurricular programme in Performing Arts.
  • Work with senior leadership to align curriculum development with the school’s strategic goals.
  • Ensure the curriculum reflects the school’s values and meets the needs of all students.
  • Engage with parents, students, and the wider community to promote the school’s Performing Arts offerings.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Drama and/or Music.
  • Proven leadership experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum design and pedagogy in Performing Arts.
  • Experience in managing and developing a department or team.
  • Commitment to raising student achievement and closing the attainment gap.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading curriculum development across multiple key stages.
  • Experience with professional development frameworks such as NPQ qualifications.
  • Familiarity with the latest educational research and best practices in Performing Arts education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
