The Opportunity:

Lead a dynamic department, shape an innovative curriculum, and inspire students aged 11–18 to excel in Food and Design and Technology. Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Food to students aged 11–18 and support the delivery of other Design and Technology disciplines
- Collaborate with the Head of Design Technology and Engineering to design a challenging, relevant, and engaging curriculum
- Ensure high-quality teaching and learning that promotes student progress and achievement
- Contribute to professional development and share best practice through coaching and open-door teaching
- Promote the profile of Design and Technology across the school through exciting and innovative learning opportunities
- Manage resources and classroom environments to support effective teaching and learning
- Support and deploy other adults in the classroom where appropriate
- Monitor and analyse student data to inform teaching and intervention strategies
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Food
- Strong subject knowledge in Design and Technology
- Commitment to student progress and high-quality teaching
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery
- Ability to work collaboratively and lead within a school environment
Preferred
- Experience in teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5
- Experience with project-based learning and ICT integration
- Leadership experience within a school department
- Experience in staff coaching and mentoring
- Background in supporting school improvement and marketing initiatives
