Deputy Head of Mathematics with responsibility for Key Stage 4. Support the Head of Department and lead curriculum development.

The Opportunity:

As Deputy Head of Mathematics with responsibility for Key Stage 4, you will play a vital role in leading curriculum development and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning. This is a key leadership position that supports the Head of Department in driving academic excellence and student achievement in GCSE Mathematics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Department in leading and developing curriculum provision to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Lead curriculum development and manage staff and resources at Key Stage 4 Mathematics.
  • Maintain high standards for attainment at Key Stage 4 GCSE Mathematics.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based strategies to raise attainment and ensure student progress in public examinations.
  • Monitor student performance and complete Key Stage 4 RAMs, providing analysis and recommendations.
  • Ensure the effective operation of assessment, recording, and reporting systems.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development for teachers delivering Key Stage 4 GCSE Mathematics.
  • Develop and enhance tutor activities for Year 10 and Year 11 in GCSE Mathematics.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Key Stage 4 Mathematics.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Experience in curriculum development and implementation.
  • Ability to monitor and evaluate student performance and progress.
  • Knowledge of assessment and reporting systems.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading intervention strategies for underperforming students.
  • Experience with UKMT Mathematics challenges.
  • Experience in mentoring ITT students.
  • Experience in developing teaching and learning route maps.
