The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Deputy Head of Mathematics to lead and inspire the maths department. This role is central to shaping a dynamic and impactful learning environment for students across all key stages, with a focus on academic excellence and student development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Maths lessons to years 7-13, including A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics
- Collaborate with the Head of Maths to design a relevant, challenging, and engaging curriculum
- Ensure all students make outstanding progress through high-quality teaching and learning
- Track and assess student progress, with a focus on supporting disadvantaged learners
- Contribute to CPD initiatives and share best practice across the school
- Promote the maths department through innovative and engaging learning opportunities
- Ensure resources are effectively organised and ICT is integrated where appropriate
- Support student attendance in events such as UKMT and AMSP competitions
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience teaching Maths at Key Stages 3, 4 and A Level
- Strong leadership experience within a school environment
- Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding academic results
- Commitment to the school’s vision and values
- Ability to design and implement effective learning strategies
Preferred
- Experience in leading a maths department or similar role
- Experience with data analysis and student intervention strategies
- Familiarity with ICT integration in teaching
- Experience in behaviour management and student engagement
- Experience in school improvement and professional development
