The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Deputy Head of Mathematics to lead and inspire the maths department. This role is central to shaping a dynamic and impactful learning environment for students across all key stages, with a focus on academic excellence and student development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Maths lessons to years 7-13, including A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics
  • Collaborate with the Head of Maths to design a relevant, challenging, and engaging curriculum
  • Ensure all students make outstanding progress through high-quality teaching and learning
  • Track and assess student progress, with a focus on supporting disadvantaged learners
  • Contribute to CPD initiatives and share best practice across the school
  • Promote the maths department through innovative and engaging learning opportunities
  • Ensure resources are effectively organised and ICT is integrated where appropriate
  • Support student attendance in events such as UKMT and AMSP competitions

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience teaching Maths at Key Stages 3, 4 and A Level
  • Strong leadership experience within a school environment
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding academic results
  • Commitment to the school’s vision and values
  • Ability to design and implement effective learning strategies

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a maths department or similar role
  • Experience with data analysis and student intervention strategies
  • Familiarity with ICT integration in teaching
  • Experience in behaviour management and student engagement
  • Experience in school improvement and professional development
