The Opportunity:
As Deputy Head of Maths, you will play a pivotal role in driving academic excellence and inspiring students in a school committed to leadership development and educational achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the maths curriculum to ensure outstanding learning outcomes for all students.
- Support the Head of Maths in managing the faculty and delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing strategies to raise attainment and achievement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to innovate and enhance teaching methods and learner engagement.
- Provide professional development opportunities for maths staff to ensure continuous improvement.
- Work closely with senior leaders to align departmental goals with the school’s strategic vision.
- Promote a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the maths department.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and key stage standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
- Proven experience in teaching to GCSE standard.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a faculty and improve pupil outcomes.
- Strong understanding of statutory requirements at Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Experience in coaching and motivating colleagues to achieve targets.
Preferred
- Experience in middle leadership roles within education.
- A track record of innovation and creativity in teaching and learning.
- Experience of sustained delivery of outstanding attainment and achievement.
