The Opportunity:

As Deputy Head of Maths, you will play a pivotal role in driving academic excellence and inspiring students in a school committed to leadership development and educational achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the maths curriculum to ensure outstanding learning outcomes for all students.
  • Support the Head of Maths in managing the faculty and delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing strategies to raise attainment and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to innovate and enhance teaching methods and learner engagement.
  • Provide professional development opportunities for maths staff to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with senior leaders to align departmental goals with the school’s strategic vision.
  • Promote a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the maths department.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and key stage standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Proven experience in teaching to GCSE standard.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a faculty and improve pupil outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of statutory requirements at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Experience in coaching and motivating colleagues to achieve targets.

Preferred

  • Experience in middle leadership roles within education.
  • A track record of innovation and creativity in teaching and learning.
  • Experience of sustained delivery of outstanding attainment and achievement.
