The Opportunity:

As a Deputy Head of Maths, you will play a key role in driving academic excellence and innovation within the department. You will support the Head of Department and lead the implementation of best practices, ensuring continuous improvement and a culture of collaboration and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Department in delivering strategic direction and academic leadership within the maths department.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure consistent standards of teaching and learning.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in maths education.
  • Mentor and develop staff to enhance their teaching practice and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to ensure alignment with institutional goals and priorities.
  • Promote the use of technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance learner engagement and achievement.
  • Represent the maths department in school-wide meetings and initiatives.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, including parents and external partners.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with demonstrable experience of delivering outstanding teaching.
  • Experience in continuous quality improvement and internal quality assurance.
  • Proven ability to lead and support a team of staff.
  • Strong understanding of maths education and curriculum development.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a similar leadership role, such as Deputy Head or Head of Department.
  • Experience in driving innovation and the use of technology in teaching and learning.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
