The Opportunity:
As a Deputy Head of Maths, you will play a key role in driving academic excellence and innovation within the department. You will support the Head of Department and lead the implementation of best practices, ensuring continuous improvement and a culture of collaboration and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Department in delivering strategic direction and academic leadership within the maths department.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to ensure consistent standards of teaching and learning.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in maths education.
- Mentor and develop staff to enhance their teaching practice and professional growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to ensure alignment with institutional goals and priorities.
- Promote the use of technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance learner engagement and achievement.
- Represent the maths department in school-wide meetings and initiatives.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders, including parents and external partners.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with demonstrable experience of delivering outstanding teaching.
- Experience in continuous quality improvement and internal quality assurance.
- Proven ability to lead and support a team of staff.
- Strong understanding of maths education and curriculum development.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a similar leadership role, such as Deputy Head or Head of Department.
- Experience in driving innovation and the use of technology in teaching and learning.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £45,735 - £49,796.
