The Opportunity:

As a Deputy Head of Science, you will support the Director of Science in leading a dynamic and aspirational Science department. This is a unique opportunity to shape the strategic direction of Science education and make a meaningful impact on the academic success of young women.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Science in leading and managing the Science department
  • Develop and implement innovative Science teaching strategies
  • Promote a culture of high academic achievement and student engagement
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the strategic direction of Science education
  • Mentor and support Science staff to enhance teaching quality and student outcomes
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the Science department
  • Work closely with other subject leaders to ensure a cohesive approach to teaching and learning
  • Represent the Science department in school-wide initiatives and external partnerships

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within Science education
  • Strong subject knowledge in Science
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery
  • Ability to inspire and motivate both students and staff
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong focus on academic excellence
  • Background in leading a large and successful Science department
  • Experience with innovative teaching and learning practices
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and school improvement processes
