The Opportunity:
As Deputy Head of Secondary, you will play a pivotal role in driving academic excellence and leadership across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. This is a strategic role focused on raising standards, shaping curriculum, and ensuring outstanding student outcomes in a dynamic, high-performing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of the Secondary Academic Improvement Plan.
- Oversee curriculum design, pathway modelling, and ensure coherence across academic and vocational routes.
- Maintain robust quality assurance systems and ensure compliance with KHDA, BSO, IB, and awarding body requirements.
- Use assessment data strategically to drive improvement and secure outstanding examination results.
- Support and develop Heads of Faculty and programme leaders through coaching and mentoring.
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement across the Secondary department.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including staff, parents, and students.
- Ensure strong student progression to leading global universities and post-16 destinations.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in education with PGCE or equivalent.
- Minimum 3–5 years of senior leadership experience in teaching, learning, and curriculum.
- Experience in a large Secondary school or multi-form entry environment.
- Proven ability to use data strategically to raise standards and improve outcomes.
- Experience in an international or high-performing school setting.
- Commitment to delivering the school’s educational vision and working collaboratively with leadership teams.
Preferred
- Tertiary qualifications such as NPQSL.
- Experience in leading academic improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Experience in coaching and mentoring staff.
- Creative and innovative approach to education and leadership.
