The Opportunity:
As Deputy Headteacher, you will support the Headteacher in leading the school with a focus on Key Stage 3 and 4. This role offers an opportunity to shape curriculum delivery, drive staff development, and make a real impact on student outcomes. No prior experience as a deputy head is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Headteacher in strategic leadership and management of the school
- Oversee and develop the Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
- Monitor and improve student progress and achievement across Key Stage 3 and 4
- Lead and support staff development, including mentoring and professional learning
- Promote a positive school culture that values equality, diversity, and inclusion
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment
- Manage and review teaching standards and ensure alignment with school vision and goals
- Work closely with parents and the wider community to support student success
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to motivate and inspire students and staff
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion
Preferred
- Experience in a leadership or management role within education
- Experience in curriculum development and delivery
- Experience with staff training and professional development
- Experience working in a diverse and inclusive school environment
