The Opportunity:

As Deputy Headteacher, you will support the Headteacher in leading the school with a focus on Key Stage 3 and 4. This role offers an opportunity to shape curriculum delivery, drive staff development, and make a real impact on student outcomes. No prior experience as a deputy head is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Headteacher in strategic leadership and management of the school
  • Oversee and develop the Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum to ensure high-quality teaching and learning
  • Monitor and improve student progress and achievement across Key Stage 3 and 4
  • Lead and support staff development, including mentoring and professional learning
  • Promote a positive school culture that values equality, diversity, and inclusion
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment
  • Manage and review teaching standards and ensure alignment with school vision and goals
  • Work closely with parents and the wider community to support student success

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of Key Stage 3 and 4 curriculum requirements
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to motivate and inspire students and staff
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or management role within education
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery
  • Experience with staff training and professional development
  • Experience working in a diverse and inclusive school environment
