The Opportunity:

As a Music Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality, inclusive music education to students across all key stages. You will contribute to a dynamic and successful department, with opportunities to lead choirs and support students in reaching their full potential through performance and musical development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inclusive music lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Support the development of students’ musical skills, including instrumental and vocal performance.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of a broad and innovative music curriculum.
  • Lead and mentor students in choirs and ensembles, where applicable.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance the music program and student experience.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities and public performances.
  • Monitor and assess student progress in line with school standards and requirements.
  • Stay up to date with developments in music education and pedagogy.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in music education.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory, performance, and curriculum delivery.
  • Ability to teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Commitment to inclusive and high-quality teaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading choirs or ensembles.
  • Experience with GCSE and A Level music courses.
  • Experience in teaching instrumental or vocal music.
  • Familiarity with inclusive and innovative music curricula.
