The Opportunity:

As Deputy ITT Lead, you will play a vital role in supporting the training and development of future teachers. You will work closely with the ITT and ECT Lead to ensure trainees receive high-quality support and training, while contributing to the continuous improvement of the school’s teacher training programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the leadership and development of the ITT programme in collaboration with the ITT and ECT Lead.
  • Ensure trainees, mentors, and tutors receive consistent, high-quality support and training.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and success of the SCITT provision.
  • Help maintain and enhance the strong and supportive professional community within the Trust.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and mentorship of new teachers and educational leaders.
  • Work with colleagues to deliver a rigorous and inspiring training experience for trainees.
  • Collaborate on curriculum development and teacher training initiatives.
  • Support the continued growth and success of the school’s teacher training programme.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teacher training or educational leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of initial teacher training (ITT) processes and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the Trust.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or a related field.

Preferred

  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
  • Experience with PGCE or equivalent teacher training programmes.
  • Leadership experience within teacher training or professional development.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development and knowledge-rich teaching approaches.
  • Experience in mentoring or supporting early career teachers.
