The Opportunity:

A Humanities Teacher - Citizenship and Geography is needed to join a dynamic and supportive team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons in Citizenship and Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Support students with a range of learning needs and abilities through differentiated teaching strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective curriculum across the humanities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
  • Contribute to the pastoral care of students, fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum changes and educational best practices.
  • Promote a love of learning and encourage student confidence and independence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in the humanities field.
  • Confidence in teaching a broad range of abilities and learning needs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive and differentiated teaching practices.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Citizenship and/or Geography at GCSE or A-Level.
  • Experience with another humanities subject at GCSE or A-Level.
  • ECT1/2 qualification or experience.
  • Familiarity with SpLD and ASD teaching strategies.
