As a Deputy SENCO, you will play a key role in supporting students with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing department with a dedicated team and robust support systems in place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the SENCO in developing and implementing strategies to meet the needs of students with special educational needs.
  • Coordinate and manage interventions and support services to help students become independent learners.
  • Work closely with external specialists to identify additional support needs and assist with Education, Health and Care Plan applications.
  • Deliver and monitor bespoke CPD programmes tailored to individual development and progression.
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff to ensure consistent and effective support for all students.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on student progress and interventions.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Assist in the development and review of policies and procedures related to special educational needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Strong understanding of SEN policy and practice.
  • Experience working with students with additional needs.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and external agencies.

Preferred

  • Experience in a SENCO or deputy SENCO role.
  • Familiarity with Education, Health and Care Plans.
  • Experience in developing and delivering CPD programmes.
  • Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and interventions.
