The Opportunity:

As a Deputy SENCO, you will play a key role in supporting students with additional needs to achieve outstanding progress within the curriculum. You will collaborate closely with the Curriculum Support Department and other learning areas to ensure inclusive education. This is an opportunity for an experienced educator to make a real impact in a forward-thinking school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with additional needs through tailored strategies and interventions.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Curriculum Support Department and Heads of Learning Areas.
  • Develop and implement inclusive teaching practices across different key stages.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Provide professional guidance and support to teaching staff on SEN matters.
  • Contribute to the development of school-wide policies and procedures related to inclusion.
  • Liaise with external agencies and parents to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Assist in the training and development of staff on SEN best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in SEN teaching across primary and secondary levels.
  • Proven track record of successful SEN support and inclusion strategies.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum requirements and student needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of excellence, no excuses, and unity.

Preferred

  • Experience in a federation or multi-academy setting.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and inclusive learning approaches.
  • Leadership experience in a SEN or pastoral role.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student welfare.
