The Opportunity:

As a Deputy SENDCo, you will play a key role in shaping the future of SEND provision and supporting students with special educational needs. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher with a passion for SEND and a drive for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the TA and HLTA team to ensure effective student support
  • Integrate interventions into a cohesive, high-impact SEND curriculum
  • Drive new initiatives from conception to completion
  • Collaborate with the SENDCo and SLT to develop and implement strategies
  • Support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning for SEND students
  • Coordinate complex programmes and provide leadership in the SEND department
  • Promote a culture of high aspirations and continuous improvement
  • Ensure that all students receive tailored support to achieve their full potential

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in SEND and a track record of delivering high-quality support
  • Experience in managing teams and coordinating complex programmes
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence departmental strategy
  • Commitment to helping SEND students achieve their best
  • Ability to develop and implement a cohesive SEND curriculum

Preferred

  • Experience in a similar leadership role, such as Deputy SENDCo or SENDCo
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation
  • Knowledge of best practices in supporting students with a wide range of learning and SEMH challenges
  • Experience with the use of technology in teaching and learning
