The Opportunity:
As a Deputy SENDCo, you will play a key role in shaping the future of SEND provision and supporting students with special educational needs. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher with a passion for SEND and a drive for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the TA and HLTA team to ensure effective student support
- Integrate interventions into a cohesive, high-impact SEND curriculum
- Drive new initiatives from conception to completion
- Collaborate with the SENDCo and SLT to develop and implement strategies
- Support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning for SEND students
- Coordinate complex programmes and provide leadership in the SEND department
- Promote a culture of high aspirations and continuous improvement
- Ensure that all students receive tailored support to achieve their full potential
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in SEND and a track record of delivering high-quality support
- Experience in managing teams and coordinating complex programmes
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence departmental strategy
- Commitment to helping SEND students achieve their best
- Ability to develop and implement a cohesive SEND curriculum
Preferred
- Experience in a similar leadership role, such as Deputy SENDCo or SENDCo
- Experience with curriculum development and innovation
- Knowledge of best practices in supporting students with a wide range of learning and SEMH challenges
- Experience with the use of technology in teaching and learning
