The Opportunity:

As a Health and Safety Officer, you will support a culture of safety and responsibility across a dynamic, multi-site campus. Your work will ensure that all members of the school community experience a secure and well-managed environment, making a meaningful impact on daily operations and long-term improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all school sites.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to promote best practices.
  • Collaborate with Estates and other teams to maintain safety standards.
  • Support the implementation of digital compliance systems.
  • Engage with colleagues to foster a proactive approach to safety.
  • Monitor and report on health and safety metrics.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in health and safety management.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Experience in a multi-site or educational environment.
  • Organised and highly motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Preferred

  • Experience with incident investigation and risk management.
  • Familiarity with health and safety software or digital compliance systems.
  • Background in education or a similar sector.
  • Experience in training delivery or staff engagement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of working in heritage buildings and modern facilities.
