The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Design and Technology Teacher to join our team and support students with speech and language and communication difficulties. This role offers the opportunity to teach both Resistant Materials and Food Technology, with potential to work across two sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Design and Technology with a focus on Resistant Materials and Food Technology.
- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons tailored to the needs of students with special education needs.
- Collaborate with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment.
- Develop and maintain high-quality teaching resources and lesson plans.
- Support students in developing practical and theoretical knowledge of Design and Technology.
- Participate in staff training, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attainment.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages student participation and engagement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Design and Technology.
- Experience in teaching Resistant Materials and Food Technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong English and numeracy skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Commitment to working with students with special education needs.
Preferred
- Experience working with students with speech and language and communication difficulties.
- NQT with relevant experience.
- Confidence and enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
- Experience with behaviour support strategies.
