The Opportunity:
A Science Teacher is needed to teach Chemistry or Physics up to KS4 in a forward-thinking environment. This role offers the chance to join a progressive science faculty and contribute to a high-achieving, inclusive school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Chemistry or Physics up to KS4, delivering high-quality lessons aligned with curriculum standards.
- Support student progress through differentiated instruction and formative assessment.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the science curriculum, including planning and resource creation.
- Participate in a robust Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme focused on research-informed teaching practices.
- Engage in extracurricular science activities, including clubs and trips, to inspire student interest and passion for science.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the science faculty and wider school to support student achievement and school improvement.
- Support trainee teachers and contribute to staff development initiatives.
- Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity and scientific inquiry.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in Chemistry or Physics.
- Experience teaching Science up to KS4.
- Commitment to inclusive education and student achievement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Preferred
- Experience with Science CPD or leadership roles.
- Experience in extracurricular science engagement.
- Experience with KS5 teaching (A level) in Science subjects.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies in science education.
