The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support students with an EHCP and assist in raising achievement across the UTC. This is a temporary role that offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with an EHCP and assist in raising achievement across the UTC.
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, SENCO, and Learning Managers to provide effective learning support.
- Assist with planning, monitoring, assessing, and managing classes to encourage independent learning.
- Support student welfare and inclusion in all aspects of UTC life.
- Supervise classes during staff absences, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-set work.
- Manage student behaviour to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
- Contribute to the development of inclusive learning strategies and practices.
- Provide support to teachers and students in small group and classroom settings.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Level 3 qualification in the SEND / Inclusion area.
- Experience working within the SEND / Inclusion sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage student behaviour effectively.
- Commitment to student welfare and inclusion.
Preferred
- HLTA qualification.
- Level 2 qualification in Safeguarding.
- Experience working in a UTC or similar educational setting.
- Experience with planning and delivering learning support activities.
