The Opportunity:

A Design and Technology Technician is needed to support the smooth and safe operation of the Design and Technology Department. This role plays a key part in enabling effective teaching and learning, ensuring that students have access to the resources and support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain equipment and resources within the Design and Technology Department.
• Support teaching and learning by providing technical assistance during lessons.
• Ensure the safe use of all tools and equipment in line with health and safety regulations.
• Assist in the development and delivery of practical lessons and projects.
• Collaborate with teachers to enhance the learning experience for students.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and stock levels.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
• Support the school’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the role.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience in a technical support role within an education setting.
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to a wide range of duties.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Commitment to health and safety and the welfare of students.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

• Previous experience in a Design and Technology or similar technical role.
• Experience with CAD software or other design-related tools.
• Familiarity with curriculum reform and innovative teaching practices.
• Experience working in a co-educational or independent school environment.
