The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join its team, teaching students from Year 7 to Year 11, with the possibility of teaching A level. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student progress and development within a supportive and high-achieving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Design Technology lessons that inspire and challenge students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Ensure consistent progress and achievement through effective lesson planning, assessment, and feedback.
  • Support the development of students’ practical and theoretical skills in Design Technology.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and share best practices.
  • Engage in extra-curricular activities and contribute to the school’s vibrant and inclusive community.
  • Participate in professional development and staff training initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects the school’s values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree and a PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience in teaching Design Technology at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to delivering high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching A level Design Technology.
  • Previous experience in a school with a strong extra-curricular programme.
  • Familiarity with both traditional and digital Design Technology practices.
  • Experience with new teachers and a willingness to support professional development.
