The Opportunity:

As a Design Technology Teacher, you will play a key role in supporting the Head of Department in delivering high-quality education to students aged 11–18. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated teacher to make a meaningful impact on student achievement and engagement in design technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Department in coordinating 11–18 provision, pedagogy, and systems.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students across all key stages.
  • Analyze pupil achievement and results to inform teaching and intervention strategies.
  • Engage in extra-curricular activities, including clubs, competitions, and educational visits.
  • Contribute to the development of the design technology curriculum and departmental initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Support students in developing practical and theoretical skills in design technology.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Design Technology.
  • Ability to teach across key stages 3–5 (11–18).
  • Strong knowledge of design technology principles and practices.
  • Commitment to student achievement and pastoral care.
  • Willingness to engage in extra-curricular activities.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or supporting departmental initiatives.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience in developing and delivering cross-curricular projects.
  • Experience with assessing and analysing student performance data.
