Summary:

Director of Education Primary to lead and improve primary education across a school with a strong Christian ethos.

The Opportunity:

As Director of Education Primary, you will provide strategic leadership to ensure high standards and strong educational outcomes across all primary academies. This is a key leadership role that shapes the future of primary education and supports every child, particularly those with additional needs or from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the strategic development of primary education across the Trust.
  • Drive improvement priorities and ensure the highest quality of teaching, learning, and leadership.
  • Support and challenge headteachers and senior leaders to build capacity and strengthen performance.
  • Champion inclusive practice and equity across all academies, focusing on SEND, Pupil Premium, and Looked After Children.
  • Represent the Trust externally and contribute to shaping and delivering the Trust’s strategic vision.
  • Use data and evidence to identify areas for improvement and support sustainable change.
  • Develop leadership capacity through coaching, mentoring, and professional development.
  • Model the Trust’s Christian ethos and values in all aspects of leadership and conduct.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a senior leader in primary education, with a track record of leading improvement and raising standards.
  • Strong commitment to inclusive practice and supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged children.
  • Ability to work strategically at Trust level and translate strategy into action.
  • Skilled in using data and evidence to inform decision-making and school improvement.
  • Confident in providing professional challenge while building respectful relationships.
  • Experience in developing leadership capacity and coaching others.
  • Deep understanding of the Trust’s Christian ethos and values.

Preferred

  • Experience in SEND, inclusion, and Pupil Premium initiatives.
  • Experience in working with trustees and senior leadership teams.
  • Experience in shaping and delivering educational strategy at an organisational level.
  • Experience in leading through change and complex challenges.
