The Opportunity:

As Director of Inclusion (SENCo and Deputy DSL), you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities while also ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate support for students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Work closely with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure effective support and communication.
  • Implement and monitor safeguarding procedures in line with school policies and statutory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on SEND and safeguarding best practices.
  • Collaborate with the DSL to ensure the school maintains a safe and supportive environment for all students.
  • Develop and maintain records related to student support and safeguarding.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, equality, and diversity across the school community.
  • Support the implementation of strategies to improve outcomes for students with additional needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A strong commitment to supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Willingness to complete relevant training in SEND coordination and safeguarding.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in education or a related field.
  • Experience with safeguarding procedures in a school setting.
  • Understanding of inclusive education practices.
  • Experience in a leadership or coordination role within a school environment.
