The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Learning - Individuals and Societies to lead and inspire a dedicated team. This role offers the opportunity to shape curriculum delivery and support student success within the MYP/IB framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Individuals and Societies curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Support and mentor subject teams to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, ideas, and best practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring continuous improvement in outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional development.
  • Contribute to the leadership of co-curricular activities and student engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and wellbeing of all students and staff.
  • Work closely with the wider Trust to align teaching and learning with Trust-wide priorities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching and leading within the Individuals and Societies remit.
  • Strong subject knowledge in Geography and related disciplines.
  • Experience of delivering curriculum within the MYP/IB framework.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a MAT or multi-academy trust environment.
  • Background in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Experience with co-curricular activities and student engagement.
  • Familiarity with the IB Career-related Programme or other international curricula.
