The Opportunity:

As the Head of Science and Maths Faculty, you will lead a team of passionate educators and drive academic excellence across key subjects. This role is pivotal in shaping student outcomes and fostering a culture of innovation and high standards in science and mathematics education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of course team leaders, teachers, and technicians.
  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across A Level and Applied Level 3 courses.
  • Raise achievement and standards in science and maths across all levels of provision.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to ensure consistent and effective pedagogical practices.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support student progress and attainment.
  • Promote a positive and professional learning environment for both students and staff.
  • Ensure that all students have access to the resources and support needed to achieve their full potential.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of subject teams to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Significant experience of teaching in the 16–19 age range.
  • Proven leadership experience within a school or college setting.
  • Ability to teach at least one of the following subjects: A Level Maths, A Level Physics, A Level Chemistry, A Level Environmental Science, A Level Biology, or Applied L3 Science/Computing.
  • Strong track record in raising achievement and standards in science and maths education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading and managing a faculty or department.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovation.
  • Experience with teaching English as a Second Language (ESL).
  • Familiarity with the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and its educational opportunities.
  • Experience in working within a high-achieving, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
