The Opportunity:

As the Director of Numeracy, you will lead the school’s strategic vision for numeracy, driving improvement across all key stages and embedding numeracy as a whole-school priority. This role is ideal for an ambitious leader who is passionate about raising standards and shaping whole-school practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the strategic vision for numeracy across the school.
  • Drive improvement in numeracy outcomes across all key stages.
  • Ensure consistency and high-quality provision in numeracy teaching.
  • Embed numeracy as a whole-school priority through collaboration with colleagues.
  • Support and monitor the development of numeracy practice across departments.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align numeracy goals with school-wide priorities.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and evidence-informed practice.
  • Inspire and motivate staff to raise standards in numeracy teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a school setting, preferably at a senior level.
  • Strong track record in improving numeracy outcomes and raising standards.
  • Experience in leading and developing whole-school strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to inclusion and evidence-informed practice.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and staff.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum leadership or subject leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and 21st-century pedagogy.
  • Experience in leading professional development for teachers.
  • Background in working with diverse student populations.
