The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Principal to lead a dynamic all-through school with a strong academic foundation. This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher to take on their first headship and shape the future of a school on a trajectory of continued improvement and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire a large, inclusive school with a focus on academic excellence and character development.
  • Work closely with the Head of Primary to ensure a cohesive and effective all-through educational experience.
  • Drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning across all key stages.
  • Foster a culture of high expectations, strong discipline, and consistent application of routines.
  • Develop and support staff through professional development and leadership opportunities.
  • Ensure the school meets and exceeds national performance standards, with a focus on closing the attainment gap for disadvantaged students.
  • Collaborate with the Ark network to leverage resources, training, and best practices for school improvement.
  • Engage with the local community and build strong relationships with families and stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher in a large, all-through school.
  • Demonstrated success in improving academic outcomes and school performance.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and develop staff.
  • Deep commitment to inclusive education and high expectations for all students.
  • Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational network.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a school through a period of significant growth and development.
  • Familiarity with the Ark network and its approach to education and leadership.
  • Experience in developing and implementing character education programmes.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with stakeholders and the wider community.
