The Opportunity:
The Director of Performing Arts will lead and develop the Performing Arts curriculum across the school, delivering innovative and inspiring lessons that support student achievement and engagement in Music and Drama. This role is ideal for an experienced and passionate leader looking to shape a dynamic, multi-disciplinary programme that enhances student outcomes and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop the Performing Arts curriculum across Prep and Senior levels.
- Deliver high-quality teaching in Music and/or Drama, ensuring excellent outcomes at GCSE and A Level.
- Lead and expand the co-curricular Performing Arts programme.
- Build and maintain strong external relationships with relevant industries and the local community.
- Collaborate with other creative teachers to support a cohesive and ambitious curriculum.
- Promote the school’s mission and values through teaching and pastoral care.
- Support the development of students’ confidence, creativity, and resilience.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and health and safety standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in teaching and leading Performing Arts in a school setting.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Commitment to the school’s mission, values, and Catholic ethos.
- Experience in developing and delivering successful Performing Arts programmes.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience in managing a multi-disciplinary Performing Arts faculty.
- Background in both Music and Drama teaching.
- Experience in developing external partnerships and community links.
- Strong track record in achieving high academic outcomes in Performing Arts.
