Director of Sixth Form sought to lead and develop a growing Sixth Form in Cambridge.

The Opportunity:
As the Director of Sixth Form, you will lead and develop a vibrant and inclusive Sixth Form community, ensuring that students are well-prepared for life beyond school. This role is central to the school’s strategic vision and offers the opportunity to shape the future of the institution through academic, pastoral, and co-curricular leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the academic and pastoral management of the Sixth Form, ensuring a high standard of teaching and student support.
- Develop and implement an ambitious annual improvement plan focused on academic excellence and student wellbeing.
- Lead the strategic development of the Sixth Form, including curriculum design and co-curricular programme delivery.
- Drive recruitment and retention efforts, ensuring the Sixth Form remains a compelling and aspirational destination for students.
- Support students with higher education applications and careers guidance, preparing them for future success.
- Collaborate with the Senior Management Team to align Sixth Form initiatives with the school’s overall vision and goals.
- Foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, and high achievement across the Sixth Form community.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a diverse team of staff, encouraging professional development and collaboration.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in senior leadership within a school or educational setting.
- A strong track record of academic excellence and student achievement.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Experience in managing a Sixth Form or similar educational environment.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and co-curricular programme management.
- Background in pastoral care and student support.
- Experience in higher education admissions and careers guidance.
- Familiarity with multi-academy trusts and school improvement strategies.
