The Opportunity:
As the Head of Mathematics, you will lead and inspire the maths team, driving continuous improvement in teaching and learning. You will play a key role in shaping the academic future of the school, ensuring all students achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the maths department, supporting both experienced and newly qualified teachers.
- Implement and monitor teaching strategies aligned with the school’s philosophy of explicit instruction and TLAC 3.0 techniques.
- Ensure high standards of teaching and learning across all year groups.
- Work closely with the Principal to drive continuous improvement and academic excellence.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and professional development within the maths team.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, using data to inform teaching and intervention strategies.
- Represent the department in meetings and contribute to whole-school initiatives.
- Promote the school’s mission of "Education with Character" and "Knowledge is Power" across the curriculum.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a school or college setting.
- Strong classroom practice and a track record of successful teaching and learning outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of teachers.
- In-depth knowledge of mathematics curriculum and pedagogy.
- Commitment to the school’s philosophy of explicit instruction and high academic standards.
Preferred
- Experience with TLAC 3.0 and Walkthru techniques.
- Experience in leading curriculum development and assessment strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar collaborative environment.
