Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a comprehensive sports programme that promotes participation, excellence, and inclusivity.
  • Manage and support a team of coaches and sports staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and high performance.
  • Deliver high-quality physical education and sport activities that align with the school’s values and educational goals.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the school to integrate sport into the broader curriculum and student experience.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance student engagement and achievement in sport.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students during all sporting activities.
  • Represent the school at external events and engage with parents and the wider community.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sport and physical education programmes, making recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in sport and physical education.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high-quality sports programmes.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills with a focus on student development.
  • Experience in managing a team of sports staff and coaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of sports administration and event management.
  • Experience in developing and delivering extra-curricular sports activities.
  • Familiarity with current trends and best practices in school sport.
