The Opportunity:

The Director of Studies will provide academic leadership and work closely with senior leadership to shape strategy and drive improvement. This role is ideal for an ambitious individual looking to grow within a supportive and progressive Senior Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support academic strategy across the school in collaboration with Heads of Pre-Prep and Prep.
  • Manage and analyze academic data to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of pedagogical discussion and continuous professional development.
  • Work closely with Academic HoDs, SENDCo, and Specialist Teachers to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Hold teaching responsibilities on a reduced timetable while maintaining a strong presence in the classroom.
  • Support the implementation of initiatives aimed at raising academic standards.
  • Ensure the school maintains a positive academic environment for all stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that support academic excellence.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in academic leadership within a school setting.
  • Strong data management and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A commitment to raising academic standards and student achievement.
  • Experience in teaching, preferably at a senior level.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading academic strategy within a multi-academy trust or similar structure.
  • Familiarity with curriculum development and assessment practices.
  • Experience with data-driven decision-making in education.
  • Leadership experience within a Senior Leadership Team.
  • Experience in pastoral care and student wellbeing.
