Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Support students in developing confidence, articulation, and cultural awareness through engaging and challenging content.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of a rich programme of drama productions and enrichment activities.
  • Maintain high expectations of student behaviour and academic achievement.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of the department.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the school’s curriculum and extracurricular offerings.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students where appropriate.
  • Engage with the wider school community through co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong subject knowledge and passion for drama.
  • Experience teaching drama at Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to maintaining high academic and behavioural standards.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of the drama department and school community.
  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering drama productions and enrichment activities.
  • Leadership experience within a school or department.
  • Experience with GCSE Drama (Pearson Edexcel) curriculum.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
  • Experience in working with diverse student groups and communities.
