The Opportunity:

As a Dyslexia Specialist, you will support students with literacy needs, delivering targeted interventions and working closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure students can fully access learning and thrive in school life. This role is vital in helping students build confidence, develop essential skills, and achieve academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions to support students with dyslexia and literacy needs.
  • Plan and deliver bespoke support sessions using established dyslexia strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress using Provision Map and iSAMS systems.
  • Contribute to EHCP and Pupil Passport outcomes to support individual learning plans.
  • Support students’ emotional well-being, helping them stay motivated, organised, and ready to learn.
  • Provide in-class support and specialist withdrawal sessions as required.
  • Prepare effective resources and manage workload efficiently.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Specialist knowledge and experience in dyslexia support and literacy intervention.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Understanding of a range of SEND profiles and strategies.
  • Experience in using Provision Map and iSAMS systems.
  • Commitment to student well-being and academic success.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering structured intervention programmes.
  • Experience with EHCP and Pupil Passport processes.
  • Background in teaching or special educational needs support.
  • Experience with professional development and training in dyslexia support.
