The Opportunity:
As a History Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping students' understanding of the past and its relevance to the present and future. You will teach across key stages 3–5 and contribute to a vibrant academic and extracurricular programme that supports student development and success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality History lessons across KS3–5, ensuring engaging and challenging content.
- Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that promote critical thinking and student engagement.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of extracurricular activities related to History.
- Support the academic and personal development of students through pastoral care and mentorship.
- Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve the curriculum and teaching methods.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in line with school policies and procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree in History or a related subject.
- Experience teaching History at Key Stages 3–5.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students.
Preferred
- Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular activities.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technology in education.
- Experience with inclusive education and supporting diverse learners.
- Leadership experience or potential for future leadership roles.
