The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Early Years Foundation Stage Teacher to join a dedicated and dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching and committed to providing a holistic education for children, while supporting the school's ethos, values, and vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver a play-based, child-centred curriculum that supports emotional development and self-regulation.
- Create and maintain a high-quality learning environment that supports both child-initiated and adult-led learning.
- Use observations and ongoing assessment to track children’s progress in line with the EYFS framework.
- Support children across all areas of the EYFS curriculum, including communication and language, early literacy, and physical development.
- Promote children’s personal, social, and emotional development (PSED) and support independence and confidence.
- Collaborate with parents, staff, and external professionals to develop and implement Individual Learning Support Plans.
- Communicate effectively with parents through regular updates, reports, and meetings.
- Commit to Continued Professional Development and contribute to the ongoing development of the setting.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A recognised Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
- PGCE, QTS, or other internationally recognised teaching qualification.
- At least three years of recent experience in whole class teaching within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Knowledge of UK-based systems for assessment and reporting such as Early Learning Goals, Benchmarking, and GL Assessments/CAT4 Assessments.
- Demonstrated excellence in classroom practice, preferably externally verified.
- Up-to-date knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection practices.
- Comprehensive IT knowledge and capabilities.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Experience in leading and managing within the classroom, including other adults such as Teaching Assistants.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary ranging from CI$55,000 to CI$67,500 per annum, tax-free.
