The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Business and Finance Department to lead and inspire a team of educators. This role is central to ensuring academic excellence in Business, Accounting, Economics, and Travel & Tourism for Years 10-13 students, while supporting the school’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and oversee the provision of Business, Accounting, Economics, and Travel & Tourism for Years 10-13 students.
- Ensure high standards of academic achievement, behavior, and student engagement.
- Provide effective leadership, management, and support for subject teachers and staff.
- Develop and implement policies that reflect the school’s commitment to teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with parents, staff, and external professionals to support student learning and development.
- Communicate regularly with tutors, teachers, senior management, and parents on student progress.
- Commit to continuous professional development and contribute to the growth of the teaching community.
- Participate in and lead extra-curricular activities that align with the school’s mission and values.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A recognised Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
- PGCE, QTS, or other internationally recognised teaching qualification.
- Minimum of six years’ teaching experience, with three years in a leadership role in a secondary school following the British curriculum.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices with recent training.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Office 365 products.
- Experience in leading and managing a department with a focus on academic achievement and student support.
Preferred
- Experience with SIMS or similar school management systems.
- Background in leading extra-curricular activities.
- Strong understanding of the British curriculum and its implementation in a Catholic school setting.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary ranging from CI$65,500 to CI$73,000 per annum, tax-free.
