The Opportunity:
The Vice Principal (Primary) will lead the strategic and academic direction of the Primary School (Nursery to Year 6), ensuring a culture of excellence, faith, and innovation. This role is central to the school's mission and will involve working closely with senior leaders to drive continuous improvement and uphold Catholic values in education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic direction and daily operation of the Primary School.
- Oversee and embed the Catholic ethos aligned with the school’s mission.
- Drive school improvement based on inspection outcomes and recommendations.
- Ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and pastoral care aligned with the UK National Curriculum.
- Develop and support senior leaders and staff to foster a culture of accountability and growth.
- Oversee quality assurance processes to improve student achievement and academic progress.
- Collaborate with teachers to enhance teaching and learning, including for students with additional needs.
- Foster an inclusive environment that supports all learners.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, child protection, and statutory requirements.
- Oversee operational practices that support learning and staff effectiveness.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in primary education, with 10+ years in a senior leadership role within a Catholic school.
- Leadership and management qualifications or relevant advanced degree.
- PGCE, QTS, or internationally recognised teaching qualification.
- Proven experience in leading a Catholic ethos and school improvement.
- Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum and curriculum development for Years N to 6.
- Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
Preferred
- Experience with school inspections and continuous improvement planning.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Experience in developing and supporting other leaders.
- Knowledge of current trends in education and pedagogy.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary ranging from CI$76,500 to CI$90,500 per annum, tax-free.
