Key Responsibilities:

  • Model excellent early years practice in line with the Early Years Inspection Handbook.
  • Stay up to date with current Early Years initiatives and legislation to inform your teaching approach.
  • Set high expectations for children's learning and provide strong support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Demonstrate a secure understanding of child development and communicate this knowledge effectively to children.
  • Gather and assess information to understand children's progress and share this with parents and professionals.
  • Use assessment data to plan targeted learning strategies that support all children, including those who need additional help.
  • Build strong relationships with parents by sharing insights into children's development and how they can support their learning at home.
  • Reflect on your practice regularly to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education.
  • Strong experience working with young children, particularly 2–5-year-olds.
  • Experience working with children and families to support their learning.
  • Experience working as part of a team.
  • Experience in planning and delivering learning experiences.
  • Good knowledge of the EYFS, Ofsted Education Inspection Framework, and relevant legislation.
  • Understanding of the developmental needs of young children aged 2–5 years.
  • Understanding of what constitutes a quality early education environment.
  • Strong observational and assessment skills with experience in maintaining accurate learning records.

Preferred

  • Experience in writing detailed reports on children's developmental progress.
  • Experience in using the Early Years Outcomes document and other relevant assessment tools.
