Summary:

Nursery Assistant job opportunity with a focus on early years education and child development.

About the School:

A school dedicated to providing a nurturing and academic environment for children aged three to 11, with a strong emphasis on individual growth and extracurricular development.

The Opportunity:

As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of young children aged 2 to 4 years old. You will contribute to creating a stimulating and caring learning environment, while working closely with parents and the teaching team to ensure the best outcomes for each child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and providing a caring and stimulating environment for the children.
  • Observing and assessing children’s development and keeping accurate records.
  • Working as part of a team to support the learning and development of young children.
  • Encouraging learning and development through play and teaching.
  • Creating a secure environment that fosters curiosity and imagination.
  • Building positive relationships with parents and carers to support children’s learning and well-being.
  • Enabling children to build their literacy, language and numeracy skills.
  • Monitoring progress and planning educational activities and games.
  • Designing engaging activities to keep children motivated throughout the day.
  • Supporting children in preparing for the transition into a classroom environment.
  • Encouraging independence in children when carrying out daily tasks.
  • Ensuring a balanced approach between structured learning and free play.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 3 qualification or above in Childcare or equivalent.
  • Understanding of child safeguarding and a commitment to child welfare and safety.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an early years setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when needed.
  • Experience with supporting children’s transition to formal learning environments.
