Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and innovative Economics lessons that align with the school’s commitment to academic excellence.
- Develop and implement a knowledge-rich curriculum based on Rosenshine’s principles of instruction.
- Coordinate enrichment activities, such as the Young Enterprise group and external partnerships.
- Support student progression and ensure high outcomes in Economics at KS5.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and improve departmental performance.
- Contribute to the school’s Catholic ethos and values through teaching and pastoral support.
- Provide pastoral care and mentorship to students where appropriate.
- Participate in professional development and curriculum planning throughout the school day.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a strong background in Economics.
- Ability to teach Economics at A Level and another subject.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative team spirit.
- Commitment to developing a knowledge-rich curriculum and applying Rosenshine’s principles.
- Belief in the right of every student to succeed, regardless of starting points.
- Support for the Catholic ethos and values of the school.
Preferred
- Experience in leading a department or contributing to curriculum development.
- Experience with enrichment activities, such as Young Enterprise or external partnerships.
- Strong track record of achieving high student outcomes in Economics.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language or other relevant qualifications.
