Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative Economics lessons that align with the school’s commitment to academic excellence.
  • Develop and implement a knowledge-rich curriculum based on Rosenshine’s principles of instruction.
  • Coordinate enrichment activities, such as the Young Enterprise group and external partnerships.
  • Support student progression and ensure high outcomes in Economics at KS5.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and improve departmental performance.
  • Contribute to the school’s Catholic ethos and values through teaching and pastoral support.
  • Provide pastoral care and mentorship to students where appropriate.
  • Participate in professional development and curriculum planning throughout the school day.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a strong background in Economics.
  • Ability to teach Economics at A Level and another subject.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative team spirit.
  • Commitment to developing a knowledge-rich curriculum and applying Rosenshine’s principles.
  • Belief in the right of every student to succeed, regardless of starting points.
  • Support for the Catholic ethos and values of the school.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Experience with enrichment activities, such as Young Enterprise or external partnerships.
  • Strong track record of achieving high student outcomes in Economics.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language or other relevant qualifications.
