The Opportunity:

Join a prestigious British international school in Madrid as an Economics Teacher. This role involves delivering IGCSE and IB Economics, contributing to a dynamic academic environment, and supporting student success through engaging and innovative teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Economics lessons across KS3–5, including IGCSE and IB.
  • Support the teaching of Maths and/or Business Studies where required.
  • Monitor and support student progress to ensure academic achievement.
  • Create an engaging, motivating, and safe learning environment.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental initiatives.
  • Serve as a form tutor and support the pastoral development of students.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in staff development and school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Successful teaching experience at secondary level, ideally in Economics at IGCSE and IB levels.
  • Understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies for KS3–5.
  • Excellent planning, assessment, and organisational skills.
  • Strong ICT skills and ability to integrate technology into learning.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students, raising aspirations and achievement.
  • Excellent communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.

Preferred

  • Experience with teaching Maths and/or Business Studies.
  • Experience in a British international school setting.
  • Experience with curriculum development and resource creation.
